Off-Grid Power in Action in Outback Queensland
Jason Harding recently travelled to Charleville to visit an impressive off-grid installation completed by Jabyn McDonald and the South West Tech team at Helvetia Park.
Designed to power a 1,000-square-metre home and machinery sheds on a 36,000-acre cattle property, the system combines 96kWh of Discover Helios battery storage with 36kW Deye equipment. The batteries are housed in a purpose-built, air-conditioned building to help maintain reliable performance in demanding remote Queensland conditions.
The visit provided an opportunity to see how the system performs in the real world and discuss the practical considerations behind designing dependable off-grid solutions for remote properties.
Jabyn and his partner captured the installation and site visit on video, including a Q&A with Jason highlighting the system and Discover Helios. It is a great example of quality equipment, thoughtful system design and local installation expertise working together to deliver reliable off-grid power.
Congratulations to South West Tech on an outstanding project, and thank you to Jabyn and the property owners for welcoming Jason on site.
