VictronConnect v6.40 Brings Smarter Monitoring and Improved Remote Management
Victron Energy has released VictronConnect v6.40, introducing a range of updates designed to make system monitoring, configuration and remote management easier for installers and system owners.
The latest version adds improved connectivity, a more flexible user interface and expanded support for several Victron products. It also includes practical changes that can make commissioning, diagnostics and ongoing system management more efficient.
Bluetooth Support for Windows
One of the most useful additions is Bluetooth connectivity support for Windows devices.
VictronConnect can now work with supported Bluetooth connections on Windows, allowing users to monitor and control compatible Victron Smart products directly from a Windows computer.
This gives installers another option when configuring systems on site, particularly when a larger screen or desktop-style interface is preferred.
New Dark Mode
VictronConnect v6.40 also introduces dark mode support.
The application can follow the operating system theme or allow users to select either light or dark mode independently. While this is primarily a user-interface improvement, it can make the application more comfortable to use in low-light environments or during extended monitoring sessions.
Improved Remote Console Experience
The Remote Console experience has also been updated to improve usability across different devices.
The new version provides better handling and easier navigation, including support for portrait mode on supported systems. This can make it easier to access system information and controls from phones, tablets and other devices while working remotely or on site.
Easier Inspection of Settings Files
VictronConnect v6.40 introduces backwards compatibility for inspecting settings files created using VictronConnect v6.30 or later.
These files can now be opened as demonstration products, allowing users to inspect their settings without needing to be connected to the original device.
For installers and technical support teams, this may simplify troubleshooting, system reviews and the sharing of configuration information.
Upcoming EV Charging Station Improvements
The update also includes early support for upcoming EV Charging Station enhancements.
Once supported by a future Venus OS release, VictronConnect will be able to display additional charging information, including:
- Vehicle charging status
- Battery state of charge
- Estimated driving range
- Supported vehicle-related data
These features will depend on the charger, vehicle and connected system, but they indicate a continued move toward more integrated energy and EV management.
SolarSense 750 Data Export
Users of the SolarSense 750 can now export historical data in CSV format.
This provides more flexibility when reviewing past performance, preparing customer reports or conducting further analysis outside the VictronConnect application.
Expanded Lynx Smart BMS Information
VictronConnect now provides additional battery information for systems using the Lynx Smart BMS.
Individual battery details, including voltage, temperature and status, can be viewed where compatible. This gives installers and system owners greater visibility into battery performance and can assist with diagnostics and ongoing system monitoring.
Support for the New Energy Meter VM-3P6A
Support has also been added for the Victron Energy Meter VM-3P6A.
VictronConnect can now be used to monitor and configure the meter, helping bring another system component into the same commissioning and monitoring environment.
What the Update Means for Installers
VictronConnect v6.40 is not a complete redesign, but it introduces several practical improvements that can simplify everyday system management.
Windows Bluetooth support provides more flexibility during commissioning, while the updated Remote Console and settings-file inspection features may make remote support and troubleshooting easier. The additional product monitoring and data-export capabilities also give users more detailed access to system information.
For most systems, the VictronConnect application will prompt users when the latest version is available. Installers can also review the complete change log and download information through Victron’s official platforms.
