Overview

The Victron AGM Super Cycle Battery represents a significant advancement in AGM battery electrochemistry. Developed using improved positive plate paste formulations and new electrolyte additives, the Super Cycle range delivers exceptional resistance to sulfation and plate degradation, even under extreme deep discharge conditions.

Unlike conventional AGM batteries, the Super Cycle battery is engineered to tolerate repeated 100% depth of discharge (DoD) and extended periods in a discharged state, making it ideally suited for demanding energy storage applications where deep cycling cannot be avoided.

Key Features

Enhanced Electrochemical Design

  • Positive plate paste less sensitive to softening during deep discharge
  • Advanced electrolyte additives to significantly reduce sulfation
  • Optimised for long-term deep-cycle durability

Proven Deep Discharge Performance

  • Tested to withstand at least 300 cycles at 100% DoD
  • Daily discharge testing to 10.8 V at 0.2C
  • Includes extended rest periods in fully discharged condition

Superior Resistance to Discharge Damage

  • Unaffected by two-hour rest periods while fully discharged
  • Most conventional batteries fail within 100 cycles under similar conditions
  • Designed for applications with irregular or harsh cycling profiles

Recommended Use Cases

  • Occasional discharge to 100% DoD
  • Frequent discharge to 60–80% DoD
  • Off-grid, backup, and mobile energy systems
