Description

Overview

The Victron Cyrix-Li-Charge is a lithium-safe charger relay designed to intelligently connect and disconnect battery chargers in LiFePO₄ battery systems. It works in conjunction with the VE.Bus BMS to ensure safe charging and protect lithium cells from overvoltage and overtemperature conditions.

By using voltage sensing and BMS control logic, the Cyrix-Li-Charge provides reliable and automated charger management for advanced lithium battery installations.

Key Features

Intelligent Charger Control

  • Connects battery charger with a 3-second delay when conditions are met
  • Requires Charge Disconnect output of VE.Bus BMS to be high
  • Engages when charger terminal senses ≥13.0V (12V), ≥26.0V (24V), or ≥52.0V (48V)
  • Requires ≥2V present on the battery terminal

Immediate Safety Disconnect

  • Disengages instantly if BMS control input becomes free floating
  • Responds to cell overvoltage or overtemperature events

Automatic Reconnect Logic

  • Reconnects charger after 3 seconds once alarms reset
  • Performs periodic disconnect after 1 hour to verify charger operation
  • Automatically reengages if charger voltage rises again

Optimised for Lithium Systems

  • Prevents uncontrolled charging of LiFePO₄ batteries
